This project took an ordinary 6L XJS facelift back to its component parts and rebuilt it from the ground up. It was restored using original, new ‘old stock’ and new parts to ensure as much as originality as possible was retained. New life was breathed back into every aspect of this stunning car to achieve what the JEC Magazine describe as factory fresh and Jaguar World Magazine suggest is better than new!

This website illustrates just some of the length gone to, to achieve this exceptional car.

Body

The body was taken back to bare metal by hand, all rust and rot was cut out and replaced with new metal. The body was sealed with epoxy, filled, primed, and then base coat and clear lacquer finishes applied, with being blocked by hand in between every stage. This work was undertaken in collaboration with Premier Paintwork and used the full Novel Classic Car Paint system.

Mechanical & Electrical

From the wiper motor assembly to the differential, and the HVAC system to the electric ariel, all parts and items were stripped down into their components, inspected, cleaned, tested, refurbished to original specification and then reassembled and refitted. This is genuinely a nut and bolt restoration!

Interior & Trim

Every bit of trim, carpet, dash, wood, leather, plastic, chrome, and sound proofing etc was removed. Each item was thoroughly inspected, cleaned using the appropriate ‘care package’ and then re-assessed before being rebuilt back into the car. The car had been kept in damp conditions for a long time, so much work was needed!
